LAS VEGAS – October 4, 2016
Makeshift Union Cutting & Grooming, Downtown Las Vegas’ newest high-end hair salon, is celebrating its grand opening in the famous Las Vegas Arts District. Specializing in hair-only experiences, including haircutting and coloring,
Makeshift Union employs superior technical and social skills in an atmosphere that is classic and timeless. The high-end salon will celebrate its grand opening in the heart of district 18b in Downtown Las Vegas on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016.

“We’re ecstatic to open our doors and hope to become a pillar of the Downtown Las Vegas community,” said
Makeshift Union owner Lawrence Reha. “The name ‘Makeshift Union’ is a nod to my blue-collar father and the idea of taking what is available and repurposing it into something that is useful. These concepts are the foundation of an atmosphere that aims
to serve all walks of the Las Vegas community, by catering to both men and women.”

Founded by Detroit native and longtime stylist Lawrence Reha,
Makeshift Union was inspired by the urban, big-city shops of San Francisco and Detroit. With seven repurposed work stations and a vintage, Americana design, complete with a custom motorcycle table.
Makeshift Union offers a diverse, professional and accomplished group of stylists, as well as high-end products, including Baxter of California men’s grooming products and Australia’s Evo.

The Makeshift Union team includes Reha, Stephanie Von Meijer, founder of
No Rest to Success, a stylist collective and education powerhouse, Georgia Karabelas a go-to for color transformation and smoothing services, Jasmine Farro, a men’s grooming and short-hair specialist, Kimberly Walt, who specializes in Bohemian styles,
including balayage, upstyling and blowouts, Amber Harlan, a creative cutting master and men’s cutting expert Keller Leishman.

Reha, who began cutting his own hair at the age of 12, moved to Las Vegas in 2002 and quickly caught on with accomplished hair stylist Dennis Cooper, whom he assisted for a year. For the
next 14 years, Reha honed his craft at different shops across the Las Vegas valley and had the opportunity to work with many celebrities and musicians, including George Clooney, Rob Lowe, Sharon Stone, Jason Priestly and Slash. Prior to founding
Makeshift Union in 2016, Reha spent nine years at Square Colour Salon & Spa, where his client base grew as the Senior Stylist and Director of Men’s Cutting. Reha lives in Las Vegas with his wife, daughter, rescue Pit Bull Duke and 30 chickens.
