Instead of dining at one of the fine restaurants around Las Vegas, why not try something different?
Join the fun at the Greek Food Festival Friday, September 27, from 3-11 p.m., Saturday, September 28, from 3-11 p.m. and Sunday, from noon-10 p.m., at the St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church.
There is so much to do at the Greek Food Festival!
You have continuous entertainment and a feast of Greek food for an evening of fun!
They scheduled entertainment by two traditional Greek bands, the Olympians and Etho Ellas. You can even join the dancing.
Taste authentic traditional Greek dishes. These Greek specialties are prepared by the volunteers at the church.
The dinner offers a choice of chicken or lamb, with rice pilaf, Greek salad, Dolmathes, Pastitso and bread. Don’t forget those Greek pastries.
The Greek Food Festival is a great deal when you get the coupon book or just choose what you want to eat and drink.
I have attended the Greek Food Festival since the 80’s when they held their fundraisers at the Sahara Hotel. The congregation has worked for many years to save money to fund the building of the church.
Their dedication and service made it possible for the beautiful St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church to be built.
It was a happy day when they finally were able to open the church and hold the feast at their own church.
This has been 41 years of Greek dancing, Greek food and all of the fun of the festival.
The Church is a testament to its member’s hard work.
Visiting the Greek Food Festival is an exciting experience.
Of course you should walk around and see everything.
Try the Greek shops for clothing, jewelry, art and unique gifts.
There is even a children’s area so you can enjoy the festivities.
After my trip to Greece, the Greek Food Festival brings the flavor and excitement of being in Greece.
You can take a tour of the St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church.
