LAS VEGAS – (August 31, 2011) – Caesars Palace announces the first Kickoff Poker Series Classic beginning September 1, hosting tournaments in the beautiful poker room at the renowned resort to celebrate the return of college and professional football.  Poker players of all skill levels, casual to professional, are invited to join in the daily events scheduled September 1st through September 18th, 2011.

“We are excited to present the Kickoff Poker Series Classic to guests and locals,” said Andy Rich, Director of Poker Operations at Caesars Palace and Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.  “Players can enjoy watching the football games on one of our many televisions or on one of the largest screens of any poker room in the world while participating in our poker tournaments.”

Kickoff Poker Series Classic begins at noon on September 1, 2011 with Event #1, a $130 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament.  College football also kicks off later that day, highlighted by UNLV at #11 ranked Wisconsin on ESPN at 5 p.m. PST.  Other college and NFL games will be also shown on the television screens in the poker room throughout the Series.

The Tournament Buy-ins range from $70 – $560 with cash games and regular daily tournaments occurring around the clock as well. Single table satellites for all events will run daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.  A variety of events are scheduled throughout the series besides the most popular No Limit game, including 6 Handed No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, Heads Up and Omaha Hi/Low 8 or Better.  A Seniors Event is scheduled for 10 a.m. September 10, along with a Ladies Event September 9, at 11 a.m.  The $560 buy-in Championship Event is a three day tournament staring Friday, September 16 at noon.

The Caesars Palace Poker Room features a selection of the most popular poker games including Texas Hold’em, Stud and Omaha. With more than 14,000 square feet, including a 6,000 square foot tournament area and 33 tournament tables, it is the largest poker room on the Strip. More than 20 large-screen high-definition TVs, perfect for watching your favorite team, ornament the walls along with original Leroy Neiman artwork and Neil Leifer photographs.  An extensive menu and dedicated cocktail service allow players to have food and beverage delivered directly to the tables during play.
