Las Vegas Senior Citizens Receive Financial Help with Past Due Energy Bills

LAS VEGAS United Way of Southern Nevada  will provide qualifying senior citizens with financial support through Project REACH at NV Energy’s Senior Energy Assistance Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13 at Cashman Center (850 Las Vegas Blvd. North, Hall A).

United Way of Southern Nevada will collaborate with a variety of nonprofit agencies to assist applicants in getting the financial help they need. Customers will be screened and meet with Project REACH agents based on their submitted information. Once applicants qualify, United Way will determine the amount of energy assistance individuals will receive for their past due NV Energy bill.

The NV Energy Senior Energy Assistance Expo is free and open to the public. To receive support, customers must present a valid Nevada drivers license or state ID, past due NV Energy Bill and proof of income. Anyone who has received assistance in the past 12 months is not eligible for bill pay support but can take advantage of other resources offered at the event.  For a complete list of qualification requirements, more information on NV Energy’s Senior Energy Assistance Expo and a free parking pass for the event, please visit www.uwsn.org/expo.

Funded by NV Energy and administered by United Way of Southern Nevada, Project REACH helps vulnerable adults who are 62 years and older, medically fragile individuals and Reserve and National Guard members who meet program guidelines with energy assistance.
