LAS VEGAS – The Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino will host its fourth annual Grand Poker Series June 4 – July 4, 2011 in the property’s luxurious events center, The Grand.

This month-long event will feature more than 200 poker tournaments including Omaha high/low, HORSE, Pot Limit Omaha, 7 Card Stud and plenty of heart-pounding No Limit Hold ‘em action, as well as cash games, special tournaments for seniors and ladies, in addition to  two signature bracelet events – the Poker Queen Ladies Championship and The Grand Finale No Limit Championship.

“Every year we are thrilled to welcome back the Grand Poker Series installment,” said John Colville, director of Golden Nugget poker. “With seven daily tournaments and buy-ins starting at just $65, there’s a game for every player and every bank roll.”

Previous years’ Grand Poker Series have hosted more than 25,000 players from across the globe, handing out in excess of $2.3 million in total prize money and raised more than $425,000 for charity through special celebrity charity tournaments.

One of these tournaments, the Suzie and Howard Lederer Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament benefiting The Boys and Girls Club, will return as the premiere celebrity charity event of the Grand Poker Series July 4 at 4 p.m. The buy in is $330 and the tournament is open to the public. Like previous years, this event will welcome professional and celebrity players, vying alongside the public for the grand prize, a $20,000 seat on the top-rated, late-night program, Poker After Dark on NBC, donated by Full Tilt Poker.net.

The series will also host six daily No Limit Hold ‘em Bank Roll Builder Tournaments. These $65 buy-in tournaments will be held at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., 7 p.m., 10 p.m., 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. throughout the series with $40 re-buys.

“The Grand Poker Series is all about huge chip stacks, great structures and the friendliest staff around,” added Colville. “It’s something every poker player doesn’t want to miss.” The Golden Nugget Las Vegas has been the home of such popular TV shows as Poker After Dark on NBC, High Stakes Poker on GSN and Doubles Poker on GSN, as well as the host casino for the popular WPT Boot Camp.
