by Ken Medema on May 14, 2011 to benefit the Family Promise of Las Vegas

Organization. The concert will be held at the 750 seat amphitheater

Family Promise was founded in 1996 as Interfaith Hospitality Network
Of Las Vegas. Its mission is to help homeless families here in the
valley to achieve independence. Assistance is provided in transitional

housing, guidance and education counseling. This organization is an
affiliate of the national program. Family Promise has operated in the
United States for 23 years. See their web page for more information:

Ken Madema has been nearly blind since childhood, but his career has
continued to move ahead. He has performed for 37 years across the U.S.
and europe. His talent is to take the audience members’ life stories

and turn them into song. And his songs emphasize spirituality, and
world peace, and justice.

A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, he graduated in music therapy from
Michigan State University. Then Mr. Madema earned a master’s degree
in music in 1969. He next worked as a music therapist for a county

hospital helping troubled teenagers and thus counseling them through
song. His independent Brier Patch Music Label can be accessed via his
