LAS VEGAS – October 4, 2010 – The Fighters Only World Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Awards 2010 is pleased to announce two exciting developments in this year’s awards show.
For the second year in a row, the Fighters Only World MMA Awards will partner with Versus to bring all of the excitement and action of the Dec. 1, 2010 awards show to the sports-focused network. The ceremony will be taped and will premiere Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. PST/10 p.m. EST.
Additionally, assisting host Randy Couture with the flow of the show will be the newest addition to the Versus family, Molly Qerim, former ESPN reporter.
Qerim holds an Emmy for previous contributions to sports reporting and she was also a correspondent on MMA Live providing reports and features. A well-rounded sports reporter, she has traveled to cover the Super Bowl, Heisman Trophy presentation, UFC events, the NBA draft and All-Star Game, plus the MLB All-Star game, providing on-site reporting and interviews.
Tickets for the World MMA Awards 2010 are priced at $59, $79 and $99, plus additional fees and are on sale now. Tickets can be purchased at The Pearl Box Office, by calling 702-944-3200 or at any Ticketmaster location. Doors for the event on Dec. 1, 2010, are at 6 p.m. and show time is 7:30 p.m.
The World Mixed Martial Arts Awards will be hosted by UFC legend Randy Couture and will feature a night of celebrities from the world of sports and entertainment in a black-tie celebration. The awards show gives fans across the globe the chance to cast their vote on which athletes, brands and industry professionals have made the greatest impact on the fast-growing sport in the last 12 months. Voting is now open for fans to choose winners from between the top nominees. Categories include Fighter of the Year, Submission of the Year, Ring Girl of the Year, KO of the Year and new categories such as Referee of the Year and Best Technical MMA Clothing.
