LAS VEGAS, Feb. 26, 2010 – Aid for AID of Nevada (AFAN) and the Community Counsel Center of Southern Nevada (CCC) join forces for the upcoming 2nd Annual HIV Wellness Center taking place at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino March 5-6, 2010. Fashion designer and model Jack Mackenroth will serve as one of the guest speakers during the two-day long conference.
For the second consecutive year, the CCC hosts the HIV Wellness Center to share the latest research, resources and legal and healthcare concerns with the local community. Guest speakers will discuss substance abuse, mental health, family and relationships and ways in which those affected by such issues can overcome them.
Jack Mackenroth, best known for being a contestant on the popular reality TV series, “Project Runway,” will speak at the conference at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 6. Mackenroth is an avid supporter of the HIV/AIDS community and has partnered with Merck & Co., an ongoing educational HIV campaign called Living Positive by Design. Through this campaign, Jack is sharing his perspective as someone who has lived with HIV for over 20 years.
