Hash House A Go Go Opens At Imperial Palace
With Good Food, Large Portions and Creative Menu

Imperial Palace is now home to the second Las Vegas location of Hash House A Go Go, one of the city’s truly unique restaura nts. I have eaten at the first Vegas Hash House on Sahara and can personally attest to the validity of its reputation for over sized portions, unique presentation, and creative menu offerings.  This new location will certainly follow the delicious traditions of the first.

According to Craig “Andy” Beardsle, co-founder and executive chef, his company’s mission statement is, “To keep the fun in food while pulling from the experiences of farm fresh agriculture, live stock, and old recipes with a twist.”  The restaurant advertises its “Twisted Farm Food” on a huge banner over the entrance

The food might be best described as strictly American.  There is an extensive list of options for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  You can order eggs with  six varieties of hash, seven types of flapjacks, an endless combination of omelet ingredients and of course sausage, hardwood smoked bacon, or ham for breakfast.

Some of their lunch or dinner specialties include the HH Famous Roasted Chicken Pot Pie ($15.95), an upside down crust stuffed with house roasted chicken, red potato, veggi es and pan gravy served with mashed potatoes. Another favorite is the Stuffed HH Meat Loaf, ($17.95) with fresh spinach, roasted red peppers, mozzarella cheese, marsala cream sauce, and grilled mashed potatoes.  You get the idea – this place is not for people watching their calories.

I attended a recent press e vent where we were able to sample portions of the menu items.  Everything was tasty and the full plates of the food on display showed great creativity in present ation.  I’d call the décor funky-looking diner and since this is Vegas, that’s a good thing.  The restaurant bar serves several unique signature cocktails including a BLT Mary.

The original Hash H ouse A Go Go opened in San Diego in 2000; its second location on West Sahara in Las Vegas opened in 2005.  The restaurant will be operated by co-owner and Nevada Restaurant Association’s 2009 Restaurateur of the Year, Jim Rees.

If you are hung ry for a unique, moderately priced eating experience visit Hash House A Go Go on the second floor of The Imperial Palace, directly above the mid-section of the casino. The restaurant opens at 7 am daily and is open until 2 am on Friday and Saturday nights, and until 11 pm the rest of the week.
