2009 has been quite a year for Morrissey. He’s toured relentlessly, performing to sold-out audiences around the world. His ninth studio album, Years Of Refusal, saw Morrissey tie his highest US chart debut on the Billboard 200, and he’s overseen upgraded and remastered versions of his ‘90s works Southpaw Grammar and Maladjusted. It’s a silly name for a band — and album — that kicks a donkey’s ass six ways to Sunday and back again. Maybe that’s because long before the four men who comprise Chickenfoot came together they already filled the pages of rock history with enough individual mind-blowing chapters to boggle the mind. The news that they’ve pooled their inordinate talents to one collective whole quickly spread across the Internet last year (and perhaps that crazy name helped just a little). But the fact that they’ve succeeded artistically beyond anyone’s wildest dreams (except perhaps their own) is all the more reason to celebrate.

Aventura is one of the most unique artists on the scene today. Rock band, Alice In Chains, is back on tour to promote their first studio album in over 14 years, Black Gives Way To Blue. Being known as part of the grunge movement in the early 90s helped Alice in Chains become one of the most successful rock bands of that time. Selling over 17 million albums worldwide garnered the band two number one albums on the Billboard 200, 11 top ten songs on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and six Grammy Award nominations. After a three year break following the death of lead singer Layne Staley in 2002, the band got back together with a new lead singer William DuVall.
Opening will be Smile Empty Soul and Chester Bennington’s (Linkin Park’s front man) side project, Dead by Sunrise. The group features members from ’90s synth-rock act Orgy and electro-metal band Julien-K.

Signing on as the first rock and roll resident artist in Las Vegas, Carlos Santana brings his legendary talent to The Joint, by Rogue at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino through a multi-year deal with AEG Live. Through 2010, The Joint will be the only place west of the Mississippi where fans can see Santana perform. Titled to pay homage to his most successful body of work to date, Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits features the artist’s signature fusion sound in a show designed exclusively for the new venue.
Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits will feature career-spanning classics inspired by a mix of practical spirituality, a rebel-from-the-street vibe and passionate, virtuoso guitar playing.
